YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. The dirge ceremony of renowned Armenian benefactor Vahagn Hovnanyan took place at the St. Hovhannes Church of Yerevan. The President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, President of National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, culture figures, intellectuals and hundreds of citizens attended the ceremony to take the final leave of the benefactor.

Famous actor Hrant Tokhatyan emphasized in an interview with journalists that he was very close to Hovnanyan and his family. According to the actor, Vahagn Hovnanyan was the most important motivation for him to move to Vahagn District where they were neighbors. “I cannot hide that I have not seen a brighter person for a long time.Our houses are situated very close to one another and we were good neighbors”, Tokhatyan mentioned, “Armenpress” reports.

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan said that Vahagn Hovnanyan was among those devotees of the Armenian nation, whose charities will not ever be forgotten by the Armenian nation.
