YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov will hold a meeting in September in New York to discuss organizing a presidential meeting in 2015. “Armenpress” reports that the American co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group, James Warlick, informed about this in an interview with AzerNews.

“The co-chairs will bring the foreign ministers together on the margins of the UN General Assembly in September. We will discuss with the ministers the possibility of holding the next presidential summit later this year,” James Warlick informed. The co-chair informed that they plan to pay a visit to the region in autumn but the precise date of the visit is not yet scheduled.

Referring to the local elections in Nagorno Karabakh that are to be held in September, Warlick emphasized that these "elections" will not impact the results of the peace talks on resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Speaking about the tense situation on the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the Minsk Group American co-chair said. “We have appealed to the sides to reduce tensions and strictly respect the ceasefire. We also continue to propose confidence-building measures that would reinforce the ceasefire, creating a more positive environment for negotiations that could lead to a settlement”.
