YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. Armenian PicsArt network which has the function to publish photos and share them has employed previous marketing manager of Facebook and Instagram, Eric Edge, as Vice President of Marketing and Communications department.  

“Armenpress” reports, citing techcrunch.com, that Edge spent the last 4 years in Facebook where he led the marketing policies of the company in Europe, Middle East and Africa. After Instagram was acquired by Facebook he worked there on Brand strategy.

He said that he had not planned to leave his job but when he learnt about PicsArt he realized that it has great future and saw an opportunity to create something new there. “At first glance you can think that PicsArt is just a competitor to Instagram, but those who think so are greatly mistaken”, he said.

Examining PicsArt he came to the conclusion that they are entirely different. If Instagram gives people an opportunity to share the excellent moments of life by installing photos, PiscArt ensures the creation of a consolidated content.

“By employing Edge PicsArt seems to attempt to attract more brands into the network”, reads the article.
