Pupil suggests Serzh Sargsyan organizing Pan-Armenian contest of Armenian language

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. Armenian schoolchildren with high level of academic performance and occupying leading positions at international Olympiads are in the presidential residence to meet the President and receive awards and congratulations from him. The President emphasizes that during different meetings he speaks with satisfaction and pride about the achievements of the Armenian schoolchildren; especially the victories in the latest international Olympiads.

Ashot Atayan, a student from Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi, came to the presidential residence dressed in a military uniform.

Ashot said in his talk with “Armenpress” that he was called up for military service after the examinations and currently serves in Ararat military unit.

“I am proud to have received the medal dressed in a military uniform and am happy that my knowledge will serve the benefits of the Armenian Army.”

"Meghu: Armenian for all" contest winner Levon Sahakyan came up with a suggestion of organizing Pan-Armenian contests of the Armenian language in the republic next year.

According to the President the suggestions are interesting and the organization of Armenian language contest within the Pan-Armenian Games is not ruled out.

Siranush Babakhanova, who won a silver medal in International Biology Olympiad, Denmark, has been in the presidential residence for the 2nd time: last year she returned to Armenia with a bronze medal in Biology International Olympiad and was again awarded by the President.

Armenian schoolchildren won 20 medals which is record-breaking for Armenia as the Armenian children did not participate in Chemistry Olympiad, Baku. The number of medal winning graduates has increased this year: there were 47 medalists last year, this year we have 73 medalists.
