MOSCOW, AUGUST 3, ARMENPRESS. The foundation established by the American financier, philanthropist George Soros will cease its activities in Russia. “Armenpress” reports, citing Newsru.com that the reason is that the foundation may appear in the list of “non desirable international NGOs”.

Svetlana Gannushkina, head of the human rights organization “Civil Support” announced that this is not the first case that international organizations abandon Russia.  The American charity organization “MacArthur Foundation” ceased its activities as well due to the “Patriotic Stop-List” created by the Federation Council. “I have fears that the Soros Foundation will leave Russia as well”, the human rights defender said, adding that the foundation has already ceased to allocate funds to the Russian NGOs.
