YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS. There are many doctors, teachers and engineers among those who move to Armenia from Syria in recent months. The Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan mentioned about this during the regular session of the Interdepartmental Commission Coordinating Syrian-Armenians’ Issues.

“It seems that the professionals holding the community in Syria have to abandon Syria as well. Unfortunately, the situation in Syria worsens further, and our compatriots find different ways to leave the country: Some of the go to Lebanon, some come to Armenia, and some go to safer regions in Syria. We are in constant contact with our diplomatic services to be aware about the situation there”, Hranush Hakobyan added.

Speaking about the issue of providing the Syrian Armenian specialists with jobs, the Minister of Diaspora noted that nearly a dozen of doctors have asked for support in finding a job recently. Hranush Hakobyan mentioned that she has applied to the Minister of Health for support.

The Minister ensured that an agreement has been reached with the honorary Consul of Armenia in Marseille Vartan Sirmakes regarding handing over the Allepo orphanage to his care.
