YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. Russian millionaire, businessman German Sterligov, who moved from Russia to Nagorno Karabakh with family, announced that Azerbaijan has legally recognized the independence of NKR.

As “Armenpress” reports, Sterligov has legally explained Azerbaijan, which has issued an international arrest warrant against him, that according to Azerbaijani legislature an international arrest warrant can be issued against an individual only if he is out of the country. 

According to Sterligov, Azerbaijan, which has not recognized NKR as an independent state for more than two decades, has now found a civilized way to publicly abandon claims over NKR.

“Azerbaijani legislature allows international search with the help of Interpol against an individual who has committed crime only if the “criminal” is out of the “territory of Azerbaijan”. Hence, Azerbaijan has publicly and internationally recognized that Nagorno Karabakh is not a territory of Azerbaijan”, Sterligov wrote in his “Vkontakte” page.

At the same time Sterligov extended greetings to Azerbaijani authorities expressing deep satisfaction for the fact that his “modest individuality became a legal cause for the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh independence as well as for the rapprochement of the Armenian and Azerbaijani nations”.
