Kazakhstan officially becomes WTO member

GENEVA, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization Roberto Azevêd signed the protocol of Kazakhstan’s accedence to the WTO. As “Armenpress” reports, citing “Ria-Novosti”, the WTO General Council unanimously approved the package of Kazakhstan’s accedence to the WTO. Kazakhstan officially will become the 162nd member of the WTO at the end of 2015 after adjusting all the documents.

The President of Kazakhstan described today’s incident as historical and mentioned, “After the launch of accedence negotiations with the WTO the economic structure of Kazakhstan has considerably changed, it has become stronger and more transparent”.

Kazakhstan is also member of the Eurasian Economic Union.
