Systematic reforms discussed with CoE general delegation in Armenia’s Justice Ministry

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. The delegation of the General Secretariat of the Council of Europe discussed issues relating to the reforms of the jurisdiction system with Armenian experts. As Armenpress was informed by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan – Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and Vigen Kocharyan - Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia - received the general delegation of the secretariat of the European Council led by Alexander Gessel on July 3.  

Artyom Sedrakyan – Head of the Justice Ministry’s Department for Relations with the European Court of Human Rights, Narine Nikolyan – head of the CoE Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia – also took part in the meeting. The aim of the visit was to discuss issues relating to the reforms of the justice system. Alexander Gessel highly appreciated the reforms initiated by Armenia and mentioned that they will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the system. The legislation against discrimination was also discussed and Alexander Gessel noted that the perfection of this legislation will play a significant role for the further development of the system.
