Official session of Eastern Partnership Summit kicks off in Riga: LIVE

YEREVAN, MAY 22, ARMENPRESS: The official session of the Eastern Partnership Summit was launched in Riga, the capital of Latvia. Armenpress reports that the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan left for Riga to take part in the Eastern Partnership Summit.

The Eastern Partnership Summit launched on May 21 with an evening working dinner. Before the dinner the presidents and heads of governments of the countries, participating in the Summit, were met and welcomed by the President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš.
According to the information provided by the press service of the European Commission, the meeting will bring together senior officials from the 28 EU Member States and six EaP partner countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine – as well as the political leadership of EU institutions, including Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Johannes Hahn, the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations and Cecilia Malmström, the European Commissioner for Trade.
