US Congressman urges to stop military aid to Azerbaijan

US Congressman urges to stop military aid to Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, 5 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The U.S. Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues makes efforts to stop financing and providing military assistance to Azerbaijan. As “Armenpress” reports, Congressman Frank Pallone stated this in an interview with the "Voice of America". "At this period, when the budget bills are adopted, we are trying to reach Armenia from the US, as well as Karabakh by providing greater assistance. We are concerned that any military support to Azerbaijan can be directed against Armenia, because Azerbaijan always threatens to attack Armenia, therefore, we think that the US should not continue to support Azerbaijan,” Frank Pallone noted.

According to the congressman, the Azerbaijani forces often cross the dividing line and incite the clashes in conditions of the cease-fire agreement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. "We want to contribute to the establishment and enlargement of the mutual confidence between the sides and reduce the tension on the front line, as we have confidence that this work style will no longer be continued. We see the perspectives of the normalization only in those conditions," Pallone underscored.
