Armenia takes pride in the special relations with France: Armenian President

YEREVAN, 24 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan met today with President of the Republic of France Francois Hollande, who is in Armenia to participate in the ceremony for the commemoration of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

 As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Serzh Sargsyan greeted President Hollande and mentioned that it was a great honor for him to host the President of France in Armenia again and remembered with gratitude the statement that the President of France made last year, announcing about standing by the Armenian people’s side and participating in the commemorative events on this day in Armenia.

 Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that Armenia takes pride in the special relations with a country like France that are based on such steps. The President mentioned that he praises the speech that Mr. Hollande gave today and his messages to the world, without which today’s commemorative events wouldn’t be complete.

 Francois Hollande emphasized that he felt that he had participated in a historic event in Yerevan because it was the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and because all the participants of the event sent the message for peace and hope to the nations that have been pressured and have felt bitterness throughout history.
