YEREVAN, 21 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia, chairman of the State Commission on Coordination of the events for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Serzh Sargsyan attended the official opening ceremony of the new permanent exhibition of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Serzh Sargsyan, with the accompaniment of members of the State Commission on Coordination of the events for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the museum commission and benefactors toured the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, were introduced to the materials of the new exhibition and the modern conditions for proper presentation of those materials. At the end of the tour, Serzh Sargsyan left the following comment in the book for guests of honor: “The new exhibition of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, is truly impressive in terms of the materials and presentation of the materials. The work that has been done is extensive and effective.

It seems as though we Armenians know everything about the Armenian Genocide, but such exhibitions help reveal new layers and provide us with new knowledge about things that we didn’t even know about.

As a visitor, I am leaving the museum, reaffirming what we all think about and what we all say, ‘I Remember and Demand’,” wrote President Serzh Sargsyan.

On the occasion of the official opening of the new exhibition, the President of the Republic of Armenia donated the book “Grigori Nareka Vanits Vanakan Matean Voghbergutean, I Kostandnoupolis, 1850”, which was saved during the deportations in 1915.

The new museum has twelve halls instead of the previous three. There are 52 titles.
