Georgia’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide is unrealistic. “The Georgian authorities aren’t afraid of Turkey’s reaction as much as the potential worsening of relations with Azerbaijan since the Azerbaijanis make large investments in Georgia and any pro-Armenian action may lead to serious consequences,”Georgianologist Joni Melikyan said during a March 26 press conference and added that the political forces forming a majority in Georgian parliament have also expressed their negative views on Georgia’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Georgian presses, as “Armenpress” reports.

 The Georgianologist expressed concern about the efforts of Azerbaijani lobbying organizations in Georgia.
