EU wants to deepen cooperation with Armenia

EU wants to deepen cooperation with Armenia

YEREVAN, 19 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The European Union wants to deepen cooperation with Armenia and find mutual interests that will help further develop the cooperation. This is what Deputy Head of Division at the European External Action Service Adriano Martins mentioned during the 15th session of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Commission. He attached importance to the fact that the session of the commission was being held at a moment when Armenia and the European Union are trying to specify the paths for future cooperation. “The European Union is currently revising the plan for the EU Neighbourhood Policy, which is a regular process since the plan has been implemented for several years now. Now we have to understand how the policy can be better led,” he mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.

Martins also attached importance to the fact that there have to be different approaches towards the six member states of the Eastern Partnership. He stressed the fact that the EU had differentiated between the member states of the Eastern Partnership in the past as well, but the existing differences need to be specified, and the lessons of the past and the suggestions and viewpoints of the partnering countries will be taken into account.
