Armenian Genocide Memorial Center to open in Paris with assistance of Hollande

PARIS, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS: Ahead of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, a Armenian Genocide Memorial Center will be opened in Paris, the capital of France. The initiative belongs to the Armenian National Committee, with the assistance of the President of France François Hollande.
“Francois Hollande is the driving force of this program. He wants that this initiative becomes a reality. When the members of the community met the President Hollande in 2012, this issue was also discussed and he approved the program. During these years he was always interested in the program’s process. He instructed the Municipality of Paris to assist in this issue and allocate a territory for the Center. In fact, the authorities of the country are united to make the Center’s program a reality”, - told the member of the Armenian National Committee Mourad Papazian to Armenpress, adding that the sides are searching for a suitable building now. According to the agreement, the Paris Municipality will allocate a building to the Armenian community for the Center, though the building will belong to the Municipality, not the community.
