YEREVAN, 26 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan received U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Richard Mills. Congratulating the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Minister Hranush Hakobyan expressed certainty that the current high-level Armenia-US relations would grow even further during his term in office. The minister also attached importance to the growth of Armenia-US economic relations and welcomed Ambassador Mills’ policy on promoting US investments in Armenia. In this context, the sides underscored the role of the Armenian American community in the strengthening of trade and economic relations between Armenia and the United States.

 Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Ambassador Richard Mills attached importance to the development of economic relations, further deepening of cooperation and the efficient use of the potential of the Armenian American community in that process.

 As the press service of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, at the Ambassador’s request, the minister provided details of the functions, annual programs and activities of the Ministry of Diaspora, the trends for the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, as well as the moral, national and political aspects of the Pan-Armenian Declaration on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide adopted by the State Commission on Coordination of the events for the commemoration of the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The minister emphasized that a high-level US delegation is expected to visit Armenia to participate in the global forum called “Mankind Against the Crime of Genocide” and attend the major events dedicated to the 100^thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
