Armenia and Russia fully agree on Permyakov’s punishment

YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARMENPRESS: In the issue of the Gyumri murder the Armenian and Russian sides fully agree that the trial of the criminal should be open and transparent and the criminal should be punished by the law. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian stated about it on January 26 at the meeting with the journalists. 
Touching upon the fact that the authorities of Armenia are blamed in giving inadequate response to the Gyumri murder, the Minister stated that on that horrible day the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan held a consultation with the law enforcement agencies and gave instructions. 
“The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan highlighted the case disclosure in the shortest period of time and punishment of the guilty by the law. Our law enforcement agencies regularly provide us with information concerning the works, they are carrying out”, - said Edward Nalbandian, Armenpress reports.
The six members of the Avetisyan family were shot and killed in Gyumri at around 6 a.m. on January 12, 2015. The only survivor was 6-month old Seryozha Avetisyan, who was transferred to a hospital with injuries caused by a cutting and piercing tool. The child’s health condition became worse on January 19. There was severe renal insufficiency and cardiac insufficiency, and doctors weren’t able to save his life. After fighting for his life and undergoing several difficult surgeries for a week, six-month old Seryozha Avetisyan also died on January 19. Soldier of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri, Valery Permyakov is charged with killing the members of the Avetisyan family and causing numerous injuries to little Seryozha. Russian border guards found him when he was trying to cross the Armenian-Turkish border and handed him over to the commanders of the 102nd Russian military base. Permyakov has confessed his crime.
