STEPANAKERT, 24 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Over the past week, Azerbaijan has committed nearly 1,800 ceasefire violations at the contact line of the Karabakhi-Azerbaijani forces, firing more than 20,000 shots at Armenian military positions. As the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reports to “Armenpress”, in that same period, the subdivisions of special significance of the Azerbaijani army made more than 20 investigative-diversion penetration attempts in different sectors of the contact line and were thrown back by Armenian guards, suffering casualties.

“It should be emphasized that even though the Azerbaijani side has fully suspended the release of any negative information about the country’s armed forces and especially information related to the army’s failures at the contact line following a decree “On several security rules at the contact line of the forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” issued by the President of Azerbaijan on 23 September 2014, based on information at its disposal, the Defense Army has clarified that in the mentioned period, Karabakh’s preventive actions have made the opponent suffer at least 14 casualties and have more than 20 injured, and have destroyed one car transporting commanders and one “Sadko” car transporting soldiers.
