Azerbaijan carries out another diversion attempt and suffers losses

YEREVAN, 11 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. On January 11 at around 17:30, Azerbaijani Armed Forces carried out a diversion attempt at the borderline in Baghanis village of Tavush Province. In an interview with “Armenpress”, press secretary of Armenia’s Minister of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan reported that Armenian soldiers noticed and waylaid the participants of the opponent’s diversion, and the diversion group was neutralized. “Today at around 17:30, the subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces carried out a diversion attempt in the sector of Baghanis village on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border in Tavush Province. The advancement of the opponent’s subdivisions was noticed on time. The corresponding rapid reaction subdivision of the Armenian Army waylaid and neutralized the diversion group having crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia. The body of one of the diversionists is in the sector in-between military positions. Unfortunately, during the shootings, one of the residents of Voskevan village located in the open area, Seryozha Sargsyan (born in 1935) was killed. The situation is under the Armenian soldiers’ control. The Azerbaijani side is fully responsible for the incident,” Hovhannisyan mentioned.

In an interview with “Armenpress”, head of Voskevan village Seryozha Alexanyan mentioned that Seryozha Sargsyan was a shepherd and was taking the flock to graze during the military operation.
