Drug prices are falling

YEREVAN, 19 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Drug prices are falling along with the devaluation of the Armenian Dram. This is what Advisor to Armenia’s Minister of Health for Medicinal Policies Ghukas Ulikhanyan said during a December 19 press conference, as “ArmenPress” reports.

According to him, the shifts in drug prices are equivalent to the shifts in the foreign exchange rates. “People were mainly panic over the rise of prices in the drug market on the evening of December 17. The next morning, everything was back to normal. Some pharmacies raised prices by 5-10 percent starting from December 11, and in separate cases by 18 percent. Pharmacies paid heed to the minister and stopped raising the prices for a couple of weeks, but they started raising them again later. Currently, we are seeing the prices go down,” Ulikhanyan said.
