PM recorded groundless inflation of bread and eggs at stores

YEREVAN, 18 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Prices of eggs and bread have gone up for no reason, but the prices will be regulated. This is what Armenia’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan announced while touring supermarkets in Yerevan today. “Egg and bread producers have raised prices for no reason. They sell them at stores and hit citizens’ pockets. They took advantage of the moment to gain big profits, but that’s bad, and the problem has to be solved,” Hovik Abrahamyan said, as “ArmenPress” reports.

The Prime Minister mentioned that he was already visiting the third store and will be continuing to tour different stores. “Corresponding authorities are also touring stores, and I’m certain that the prices will be regulated either today or tomorrow. The shock yesterday made prices immediately go up. People bought dollars for AMD 580 yesterday, but now they’re buying it for AMD 480. We took action yesterday, used our levers and tried to identify all the organizations that had been involved in speculation. We’ll be punishing them. I’m certain that some individuals decided to take advantage of the moment and hit people’s pockets, but we’ll be solving those issues today,” he said.
