Zaven Andriasian takes 7th place at Pavlodar tournament
YEREVAN, DECEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian GM Zaven Andriasian scored 7 points out of 10 and took the 7th place among 100 participants at the open that was held in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. IM Vahe Baghdasaryan’s result was 6 points.
Zaven Andriasian was born March 11, 1989. He is an Armenian chessGrandmaster (2006). He won the 2005 European Youth Chess Championship for under 16 and the 2006 World Junior Chess Championship. In November 2010 he won the Russian Cup Final after defeating Artyom Timofeev in the second game of the final. In January 2012 he came second in the Armenian Chess960 Championship. In December 2012 he tied for 1st-3rd with Alexander Kovchan and Sipke Ernst in the Groningen Chess Festival. He beat German grandmaster Falko Bindrich in the 2007 World Youth Stars tournament.
