YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The heads of the leading news agencies from the Black Sea region and CIS are in Yerevan to discuss the prospects of the information cooperation and issues on deepening collaboration. “Armenpress” News Agency is the organizer of this unprecedented meeting of the major agencies of the region.

The heads of national news agencies of Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania, as well as the editor of the international news department of Turkey’s Anadolu Agency have arrived in Armenia to participate in the 7th session of the General Assembly of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies. The Directors of news agencies from Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus are also invited to the conference.

The 19th session of the Council of Heads of the state media of the CIS countries will be held on the same day, in the evening. The session will be attended by the Heads of the state media of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The CIS Inform-Council targets to support the coverage of the CIS structures’ activity, the creation of various ways and opportunities of cooperation between the agencies, training of personnel, and exchange of experience. On the threshold of 2015, the Inform-Council will particularly focus on the events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On November 24, the delegates paid a visit to the Tzitzernakaberd Memorial dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Sardarapat Memorial Complex, and Ethnography Museum.
