Government to continue customs reforms: Armenia's PM

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan hosted the Secretary General of the Word Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya. The Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that Hovik Abrahamyan highly evaluated the bilateral cooperation and stated that the meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the process of the customs reforms and the further prospects.
Hovik Abrahamyan added that the reforms, recently implemented in the customs service of Armenia, have given considerable results. According to the Doing Business of the World Bank rating 2014, Armenia has improved its position by 4 points, getting to the 45th horizontal from the 49th.
The Secretary General of the Word Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya welcomed the policy, led by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the direction of the customs and tax administration, and stated that after his first visit to our country in 2009, from that point of view, Armenia has registered a significant progress.
