British Council presents McLaren Award films at ReAnimania Festival

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS: From 25 October to 31 6th ReAnimania International Animation Film Festival will be held. Armenpress reports, citing the official website of the British Council Armenia that during the festival the British Council will present animation films that were nominated to McLaren Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival.   
Established in 1990, for more than two decades this award is given to the authors of creative and innovative films in the field of British animation art. The award is named in honor of Norman McLaren, the renowned Scottish-born animator. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Norman McLaren. In honor of this event McLaren 2014 program was made up.  
This program includes 22 short animation films which British Council will present in two parts during ReAnimania festival on October 26, 28 and 30.  
The authors of films to be presented in Armenia are BAFTA award-winner Mikey Please, Stephen Irwin, the winner of the Grand Prize of Ottawa festival, and Victoria Mather, the author of “Stanley Pickle”, that received 33 different awards, and others. 
Norman McLaren is known for his innovative approach to work. He worked in London and in New York, and then moved to Canada. In 1952 his film “Neighbors” won an Oscar award.
