Azerbaijan is reason for lack of progress in Karabakh conflict negotiations: Armenian FM

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS: The reason for the lack of progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiations is neither Artsakh nor Armenia and even nor the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. It is Azerbaijan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian told at the National Assembly after the questions and answers with the Government, answering the question of the journalists concerning the tripartite meeting of the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and France in Paris.
Armenpress reports that Edward Nalbandian stated:
“We highly evaluate the initiative of the President of France François Hollande. The forthcoming meeting in Paris is the third summit, which has been initiated by the co-chair countries in the last three months. It proves the readiness of the co-chair countries to continue the joint active efforts to provide for the progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement.
And why there is no progress in the negotiations process, I think, it is clear for everybody. The reason for the lack of progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiations is neither Artsakh nor Armenia and even nor the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. It is Azerbaijan. If in the past the actions of Azerbaijan were characterized by the principle “one step forward and two steps back”, now it seems to be “no step forward and several steps back”.
