Hranush Hakobyan considers state strengthening as number one national priority

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: This year there are seven priorities for Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora, Diaspora Minister of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan said in her address at the 5th Homeland-Diaspora conference, Armenpress reports.

The Minister stressed that the key priority is strengthening of the Armenian state. “I do not think there can be found an Armenian in the whole world, who will not think of strengthening of Armenia. From this chair we spoke of emigration, poverty and economic development issues in Armenia. If each of about 30 thousand Armenian organizations of the world manage to bring investments to Armenia, we will be able to fight both against emigration and poverty,” Hranush Hakobyan said.

The second priority is the issue of Artsakh’s independence and security. The third one is enhancement of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity. The sixth one is spread of the Armenian language among all Armenians.

The fifth priority is the Armenian Genocide issue. “A state committee has been set up under the head of the President of Armenia. Territorial committees work in 50 countries with the support of our ambassadors. Now we should express gratitude to those countries that have opened their doors and admitted our hungry compatriots and thank all those who had the courage to recognize the Armenian Genocide and demand from Turkey to restore the historical justice,” said Hranush Hakobyan.

The sixth one is the church, which should bring all Armenians together. And the seventh priority is the issue of the Armenians, who have appeared in emergency situations. The Diaspora Minister noted that Armenians of Syria, Iraq and Ukraine are in such conditions, and added that Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora will do everything possible so that our compatriots feel themselves protected.
