German deputy appears in Azerbaijan’s “blacklist” for visiting Stepanakert

BERLIN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: The deputy of the Christian Democratic Party and the member of the Bundestag’s Commission for Foreign Affairs Manfred Grund has appeared in the Azerbaijan’s “blacklist” for visiting Yerevan and Stepanakert days ago. The deputy was informed about it officially. In response to the statement of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Germany, Manfred Grund stated that he is a deputy, elected by people and has the right to go wherever he wants without informing anybody about it. Grund told Armenpress that he had been in Azerbaijan for three times and he hopes that the abovementioned position of the Azerbaijani diplomats concerning the visit to Karabakh will change.
“Germany is not an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair country, thus we do not have sufficient information concerning the Karabakh issue. We know about the positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan on it. For me it is quite important to see the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and get acquainted with the position and attitude of the people. That was the reason I have visited Karabakh and I hope that via the negotiations the issue will be settled and the military conflict will be excluded”, - said the deputy of the Christian Democratic Party and the member of the Bundestag’s Commission for Foreign Affairs Manfred Grund.
