USA and Russia agreed on Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement: James Warlick

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: The negotiations on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict are now held around the establishment of peace. Armenpress reports that the US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick stated about it on September 16 at the meeting with the journalists held at the US Embassy in Armenia. Warlick has arrived in Yerevan from Washington on September 15 for a day.
The US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group will meet with the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian to continue the discussions held with the Secretary of State John Kerry in Wales weeks ago. Warlick expressed hope to meet the ministers of foreign affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan also next week in the framework of the UN summit in New York.
Concerning the increase of the armament and the issue of the sale of arms to Azerbaijan by Russia, the US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick stated that they are closely cooperating with the Russian Federation and though there are disagreements on different processes taking place in other regions of the world, they have agreed on the Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement. “We are concerned over the accumulation of weapons and ammunition and its possible consequences. Our general aim is to reach peace. The sale of arms is not the issue, which is discussed by the co-chairs, though we discuss the issue of the violence taking place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the line of contact. We are concerned over the violence, causing cases of death. To finally reach peace, all this should be stopped and the ceasefire should be respected”, - said John Warlick.
