Creation of Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group proves Karabakh is de-facto independent: 
Deputy Chairman of Armenia’s Parliament

YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS. The Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov hosted the delegation of Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania led by the head of the group Dalia Kuodite.

As reports “Armenpress”, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov welcomed the guests in Armenia’s Parliament and noted that Lithuania was the first to recognize the independence of Armenia and also it is the only Baltic country, which recognized the Armenian Genocide.

Among other things, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov reflected upon the strengthening of interparliamentary ties and highlighted the role of the friendship groups. Sharmazanov also highly appreciated the establishment of the Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group saying that by this historical step Lithuania proved that it is a champion of the human rights protection and bearer of the sublime values of democracy and liberty.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov stressed that the creation of the Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group proves that Karabakh is de-facto independent and that Karabakh’s international recognition has no alternatives.
