YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, ARMENPRESS. During the meeting, the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Georgia discussed issues of common interest, related to trade and economic relations, cooperation in the spheres of education, culture, as well as humanitarian sector. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan at a briefing with the reporters after the meeting. "Emphasis was placed on the importance of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission as the best way of maintaining and further enhancing the trade and economic relations between the two countries. Issues, related to the development of infrastructures and improvement of transportation, were also discussed,” reports “Armenpress”, citing the Prime Minister.

He informed that they also discussed issues on the modernization of border checkpoints. "In particular, we reached an agreement on the construction of Bagratashen-Sadakhlo new bridge. We also discussed the issue of eliminating the consequences of the landslide, which occurred in Lars last night. I offered my counterpart the assistance of the relevant services of Armenia," said Hovik Abrahamyan.

Both sides stressed the importance of preserving and restoring the rich historical and cultural heritage. "In conclusion, let me say that the talks were held in the typical warm and constructive atmosphere," said the Prime Minister.
