YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. The applications for participation in "Junior Eurovision 2014" song contest are not accepted any more. The name of the Armenian participant will be announced on September 14 on the First channel. As "Armenpress" was informed from the Public Relations Department of the First channel, the creative group of the Public Television's "Junior Eurovision" song contest has received 87 applications: the best of them will be presented at the national selection round.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is the 12th annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place in Malta. This is the first time the contest will be held in Malta. It will also be the third time in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that the event will be hosted by the previous year's winning country, after Malta won the 2013 edition in Kiev, Ukraine, with the song "The Start" by Gaia Cauchi. Maltese national broadcaster PBS will be the host broadcaster for the event.

2014 marks a historic year for Malta, celebrating significant anniversaries as an independent country, as a republic, and as a member of the European Union. Hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on 15 November, the first time a Eurovision event takes place on the island, can now be added to the list of highlights!

The date of the final is 15 November 2014 and it will be held in Malta Shipbuilding in Marsa, near Valletta. So far, fourteen countries have confirmed their participation

 On 9 May 2014, Anton Attard revealed the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 logo and slogan in Copenhagen at a joint EBU and PBS press conference. The slogan was announced to be "#together" while the logo was revealed to be inspired by the Maltese cross. Its different coloured segments were confirmed to each represent a feature of Malta: Sand, Sea, Stone, Grass, Sky, Dusk and Sunset.
