YEREVAN, AUGUST 11, ARMENPRESS. Being officially elected as the 12th President of Turkey is a victory for Erdoğan, but a defeat for Turkey. As “Armenpress” reports citing T24.com.tr, a well-known Turkish intellectual, who recognized Armenian Genocide, Hasan Cemal wrote about this in his recent article.

He presented 50 reasons why Erdoğan should not occupy the President’s seat. The author of the article firstly stressed that Erdoğan has always shown disrespect towards freedom of speech and media.  As a prove of what has been said, he reminds how the former prime minister threatened the journalists, censored TV programs, banned Twitter and YouTube, announced social media as a “headache”, and spared no effort to “cut the tongue of internet, and declared traitors those people, who do not think in the same way”. Hasan Cemal noted that Erdoğan showed his hatred towards independent media with such behavior.
