Yerevan Mayor assures that transport fare increase is not expected yet

YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS. A specially created Commission is still working on the calculation of transport fare and until the completion of the work no transport fare increase is expected, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan told the reporters. He assured that no step will be taken secretly and Yerevan residents will be informed about the actions of the municipality. “Recently there have been publications in the press as if the Yerevan municipality wants to increases prices in the transport sector. I officially announce that in the upcoming future there will be no rise. A commission is created, which includes experts, international structures. They conduct monitoring and perform calculations. Until we know the final calculations and the final result indicating what kind of quality we can expect one or two years later of these means of transportation, and what kind of security guarantees there are, we are not going to take that step", as reports "Armenpress", the Mayor said. He expressed hope that the settlement of transport matters will be found in trilateral cooperation of state - municipal authorities - citizens.
