"Answer: 100 years later" project kicks off ahead of 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS. The reflections on the Armenian Genocide will be collected in "Answer: 100 years later" illustrated book. On July 31, this was stated by "Answer: 100 years later" project coordinator Hasmik Hakhverdyan.

Ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, "Answer: 100 years later" project is carried out by the Museum of Literature and Art after Yeghishe Charents, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia. It is a reference to the 1894-1923 unanswered letters and other evidence of the Armenian Genocide, through which the reflections of famous people and general public will be combined in "Answer: 100 years later" illustrated book.

"The aim of the project is to refer to the letters written during the years of the Genocide and testimonies, and through them, use as bait the last letters of the intellectuals - before death, which they sent to their relatives. For instance, Garegin Khazhak’s lines to his children are surprising, where he urges them to follow his way, not to dissolve ideologically and fight to the end. Today we should also make such an appeal to our children,” said Hasmik Hakhverdyan, adding, “One hundred years later we must prove that the Armenian gene, however, has not disappeared."
