Malaysian policemen arrive in Kiev to take part in investigation into Boeing crash

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS. Sixty-eight Malaysian policemen have arrived in Ukraine to take part in the work of investigating the crash of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 in the Donetsk region, as reports “Armenpress” the Malaysian Prime Minister said on July 31.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said on a visit to the Netherlands that a team of 68 Malaysian police officers had arrived in Kiev to help with the investigation. Speaking at a news conference, he and his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, said they were united in mourning. They met to discuss “the consequences of MH17 plane crash in Ukraine, which claimed lives of citizens of both Malaysia and the Netherlands.” According to media reports, a two-day visit of Malaysian prime minister to the Hague will be fully dedicated to the issues of investigation of the causes of MH17 crash. A joint statement of the two leaders will be issued after the meeting. 

Malaysia had earlier dispatched 132 specialists to Ukraine to investigate the crash.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed near the town of Torez in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine, on July 17, killing all the 298 people aboard.
