YEREVAN, JULY 24, ARMENPRESS. Today, the Republic of Armenia’s Government held a regular session, headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan. Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the Republic of Armenia’s Government informed “Armenpress” that, the Government decided to open Museum-Institute after Komitas, to determine that the goals and scope of the activities of that organization is the collection, research, preservation and popularization of  great Armenian Composer’s life, work and creative heritage, as well as preservation of traditions of  Armenian spiritual and folk performing  music and promote of reproduction, creation of favorable conditions for the development of young people's creative abilities in spheres of ethnic, folk, classical and contemporary music.

Despite the invaluable great role of Komitas, his creative heritage and personal belongings are still in such various organizations as Museum of Literature and Art after Yeghishe Charents and in archives and folders of Art Institute of NAS. On May 30 in 2013 the President of the Republic of Armenia spoke about opening  of Museum – Institute named after Komitas at the session of "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund's Board of Trustees.
