Georgian Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili commented on the incident that happened on July 19 near the Armenian Church of St. Etchmiadzin located in Havlabar in Tbilisi and demanded to change the qualification of the case, reports Armenpress referring to Georgia Online.

"This case should be requalified. Mass media reported that the investigation was conducted in accordance with Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (beating). Though after the surveys conducted by the representatives of the Public Defender Office of Georgia and studies of the video of the incident confirmed that hooliganism, organized group violence, damage to health may have taken place.

The Georgian law enforcement agencies must thoroughly investigate all the details and circumstances of the case, including those that may indicate the commission of the crime on ethnic grounds , - says the Public Defender of Georgia.
