Henri Reynaud considers impossible arms sales to Azerbaijan by France

YEREVAN, JULY 11, ARMENPRESS. France cannot sell arms or armaments to Azerbaijan, assures French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud. As reports "Armenpress", on July 11 at the meeting with the journalists Henri Reynaud said that he had no information that France was selling arms to Azerbaijan and he was confident that no such thing would happen. "I do not have such information, and the reason is that France, being the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair country, cannot disrespect and not follow all the provisions that are approved by the UN, the OSCE, that is to abstain, refuse categorically to sell arms or armament to such countries that are in conflict," said the Ambassador.

Azerbaijan does not retain the provisions of the Treaty on Conventional Arms in Europe and year by year its violations become larger in size.  The neighboring state acquires mainly battle tanks, armored vehicles and long-range guns.  The main suppliers of weapons to Azerbaijan are Russia, Israel and Ukraine.  Since 2007 the Russian Federation has suspended the implementation of the Treaty on Conventional Arms in Europe, there is no hindering factor and the country can sell weapons.
