Operation of “Tax free” system launches in Armenia

YEREVAN, MAY 26, ARMENPRESS. The foreign citizens arriving in Armenia can get back the VAT paid for the goods acquired in our country: the operation of “Tax free” system has launched in Armenia. The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the Finance Ministry of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that the novelty operates only in case of making purchases from organizations regarded as VAT paying.

According to the Head of the Department of Infrastructure Investment and Development of Information Technology of the Finance Ministry of the Republic of Armenia Mikayel Pashayan, the new system will contribute to the improvement of the business atmosphere in the country, increase of turnover volumes and the development of the tourism. “Armenia is the second among the CIS countries that has this system, but the Armenian model is the easiest since the whole system works on our platform: a foreigner introduces only the passport in the consumption points: the completed entire information is automatically transferred to all the checkpoints of the Republic of Armenia,” Mikayel Pashayan noted.
