YEREVAN, MAY 7, ARMENPRESS. The expectations of a number of fans in Armenia and worldwide have been justified. Armenia’s delegate to Eurovision 2014 Aram MP3 passed to the final stage of the international song contest. Our country’s delegate to the contest introduced the song titled “Not Alone” at B&W Hallerne hall in Copenhagen on May 6.

In the first two hour show of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, broadcast LIVE from the B&W Hallerne, Copenhagen, 16 countries took part in the First Semi-Final in order to qualify for 10 places available in Saturday's final. There are ten winners, and these are as follows, in the order they were announced – Montenegro, Hungary, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Ukraine, Sweden, Netherlands, and Iceland.

The first ten finalists (beside those already known, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom and last year’s winning country Denmark), will take part in the Grand Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on Saturday the 10h of May. Another ten finalists will be chosen in the Second Semi-Final on 8th of May.

The result was determined by way of a 50/50 split between national expert juries and televoting. The combined scores created the final outcome. In yesterday's Jury Final, the expert juries already determined their votes for the First Semi-Final by watching the live performances. Televoting took place tonight during the live show.

EBU Executive Supervisor, Jon Ola Sand, said the 59th Eurovision Song Contest promises two more excellent shows. "Tonight's semi-final got the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest off to a flying start, with some wonderful performances from the artists and, of course, world-class TV pictures from Danish EBU Member DR. I'm eager to see the story of this year's contest unfold with the second Semi-Final on Thursday and the Grand Final on Saturday."

Armenia’s delegate to Eurovision 2014 international song contest is Aram mp3. Aram Mp3 has been announced in the Big New Year's Gala TV Show, broadcast on the Armenian First Channel. Aram Mp3 is one of the most beloved personalities of the Armenian show business. He is not only well-known as the singer but also as the comedian and showman. The singer is mostly famous for his live performances. He has a very unique style of covering the international hits and comedies.

Born in Armenia's capital Yerevan, Sargsyan attended the Yerevan State Medical University and graduated in 2006. During his study at the YSMU, he played in the KVN comedy show, first among Armenian universities and later in the Armenian team Ararat in Moscow.

In 2006, Aram joined several other comedians—largely unknown to the public—to form 32 Atam (32 Teeth) stand-up comedy show. During his first years in 32 Atam he often performed humorous covers of popular songs earning the nickname "Aram Mp3", referring the common audio format MP3.

Its members split in 2010 with Aram and his friends creating Vitamin Club. He has since hosted several shows in Armenian TV.
