Armenia is much ahead of countries where chess is school subject: Specialist

YEREVAN, MAY 5, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is much ahead of those countries where chess is taught as a subject at schools. This was said during a meeting with the journalists by the head of the professional group of teaching chess at schools, the member of the Chair of the Federation of Chess, Ph.D. in Psychology Ruben Aghuzumtsyan.

"The penetration of chess in schools was a very important step. It is much more important that chess is under the auspices of the state. We had to find the necessary items for chess, and now everything is at hand. This is an important organizational matter. Armenia is a few steps ahead of those countries where chess is also taught at schools. Chess is somehow like an Armenian national game. Everywhere chess is played in the yards. I will say the psychological reason – chess coincides with the Armenian mentality” - commented Aghuzumtsyan.
