YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 15, ARMENPRESS: The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan presented clarifications on the gas agreement signed with the Russian Federation. Armenpress reports that at the 10th congress of the “Yerkrapah” Volunteers Union on February 15 Serzh Sargsyan answered the question of one of the delegates, stating that he fully shares the opinion that there is disagreement among the society concerning the gas agreements. “First, I think that the excitement should have passed long ago, as we signed the gas agreement on December 3 and after the National Assembly approved it, it has come into force. I fully share the opinion that there is disagreement among the society, as many people, based on different reasons, do not want to tell the truth and try to belittle the great achievement. The others are mad that we have managed to have such a good agreement and try to distort everything”, - said the President.

Serzh Sargsyan point by point commented on the critics, which have been often sounded. “To prove all I said, let us touch upon all the issues, which are quite logical, on their opinion. I want that everybody see what is the essence of the gas agreement. First, the essence of the agreement is in its price. Have you heard that the disputing sides talked about the price for the gas? First, let them talk about the price and say, if it is high that means that we worked not well and let them criticize us on that particular issue, let them say that we negotiated quite bad. If we managed to get a good price, let them say that the price is really good but you made a mistake here. Nobody speaks about the price, as it is lowest that Russia provides to any country.
