No problems will arise regarding Armenia's export of mineral raw materials to EU: Traian Hristea
TZAGHKADZOR, OCTOBER 7, ARMENPRESS. No problems will arise regarding the export of mineral raw materials and metals from the Republic of Armenia to the EU even in case Armenia does not sign the Association Agreement. The Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea stated this responding the question of "Armenpress" News Agency whether certain difficulties may arise regarding the export of mineral raw materials and metals from the Republic of Armenia to the EU, if Armenia does not sign the Association Agreement. In addition Traian Hristea stressed: "The export is free from the customs duty in any case. The tariffs will remain unchanged."
Among other things the Ambassador touched upon the issue of import customs duties and stated that recently the Republic of Armenia has established working groups to conduct negotiations regarding the membership in the Customs Union, but Hristea noted that he does not possess relevant information to know what the negotiations will result in regarding the tariffs level.
In the result of the negotiations on September 3, 2013 in Moscow the Presidents Sargsyan and Putin confirmed the aim of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in the direction of further development of economic integration processes in the Eurasian territory. In that context the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about the Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union and the necessity of implementation corresponding steps for that aim and in future about participating in formation of the Eurasian economic union. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed his support to the abovementioned decision of Armenia and informed about the readiness of the Russian side to support the process.
