YEREVAN, JUNE 27, ARMENPRESS: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran Grigor Arakelyan held a meeting with the president of National security and foreign policy commission of Iranian Majles Alaerdin Boroudzerdin. “Armenpress” reports calling Iranian press TV that during the meeting Armenian ambassador had mentioned that our government and parliament intend to expand friendship relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and called the countries to use their opportunities for strengthening the relations.

The representative of Iranian legislative body mentioned that the historic friendship ties existing between two nations can be a base for closer cooperation and called to develop friendship relations in all fields. Highlighting the importance of economic and trade cooperation between two countries he expressed opinion that Iran’s and Armenia’s potential should be used in favor of economic, trade and industrial cooperation. He also stressed the importance of the role of parliamentary cooperation in studying of new spheres of economic cooperation.

Arakelyan highly estimated the process of the last presidential elections in Iran where Hassan Rouhani received more of the half of 36.7 million total votes.
