Infantile autism number increased in Armenia

YEREVAN, APRIL 2, ARMENPRESS. April 2 is marked as World Autism Awareness Day. The number of infantile autism recorded growth in Armenia. In a conversation with "Armenpress" infantile psychoneurologist of infantile psychiatric dispenser of "St. Gregory the Illuminator" medical centre Hasmik Petrosyan stated that the increase of this number is also conditioned with the diagnostics quality improvement.

Among other things Hasmik Petrosyan noted: "The reasons of this disease have not been discovered, notwithstanding in case of adoption of right approach it becomes possible to predict amelioration." According to her frequently people confuse autism with mental disability and schizophrenia, but autism has congenital origin. It is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills. The infantile autism number increased not merely in our country, but throughout the whole world.
