YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, ARMENPRESS. The military investigative department of the Investigative Committee launched criminal proceedings on an illegal entry to the territory of the defense ministry, the Investigative Committee told ARMENPRESS.

At 00:20, Feburary 23, a citizen of Yerevan, identified as A. Yepremyan, drove his Opel Astra vehicle into the gates of the #2 entrance of the defense ministry’s administrative complex, and illegally entered the ministry’s territory. The driver was intoxicated.

The on-duty checkpoint officer engaged the vehicle with his side arm, firing 8 rounds. The driver was not hurt in the shooting.

A criminal case has been launched by the Investigative Committee on hooliganism and property damage and illegal entry to a military structure.

The driver is under arrest.
