St. Sarkis church in Diyarbakir damaged in clashes

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 15, ARMENPRESS. St. Sarkis Armenian Catholic Church, during more than two months of clashes and skirmishes, is among the damaged churches in Diyarbakir’s Sur district, “Agos” newspaper’s editor-in-chief Yetvart Danzikyan informed in the interview with “Armenpress”.

“There are churches in the areas where clashes are taking place. No one was able to enter there for already 2 months. Leadership of St. Giragos Armenian Apostolic Church will have a meeting with governor today,” Danzikyan mentioned.

Turkish IMC news agency posted a video where it is seen that one of the churches of Sur district is strongly damaged. In particular, walls and windows of the church are damaged. Danzikyan mentioned in the interview with “Armenpress” that the church in the video is St. Sarkis Apostolic Church but not St. Giragos Church.
