Armenian Central Bank’s delegation studying Georgian model of banking supervision

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 8, ARMENPRESS. The delegation of the Armenian Central Bank is getting introduced with reforms and experience of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) in the sector of banking supervision, “Armenpress” reports citing the NBG official website.

“The National Bank of Georgia has processed rather progressive approach and tools for banking supervision. The scope of supervision was significantly expanded in recent years. We want to further continue the exchange of experience, which will help the parties to more effectively develop risk-based supervision system,” David Babasyan, manager of Armenian Central Bank's risk-based supervision project, announced.

He mentioned Armenia and Georgia has similar challenges in the issues on regulation and supervision of financial institutions, hence this meeting is very important.
